Contest of All the Things

...and also some stuff about the Deck of Destinies.

Good Morning Wonderful Internet People!

On this beautiful Saturday afternoon, I come to you with the details of our contest where you, the wonderful people of the internet, can submit your ideas for 5 new cards in the Deck of All the Things.  First, I'd like to talk about the Deck of Destinies and the results from our recent twitter poll. But for those of you who missed it, be sure to check out the very first of our SideQuest Saturdays, which can be found by clicking the button below. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments!

Now without any further ado, let's jump in.

Deck of Destinies Release Platform

Over the last few weeks, we ran a twitter poll, reached out to some facebook groups, and deliberated amongst ourselves over how we should launch the Deck of Destinies. The often talked about, never released deck, that's a finished tuck box away from being print ready, is something of a quandary. The deck is relatively small at only 16 cards, so it'll be cheaper than some of our other cards to make. However, due to some companies' minimums on deck size and packaging, options are limited in how we might release this deck to you.

So what did we ultimately decide? After much deliberation, we've decided to launch the product via our store on DriveThru RPG. While we love the idea of a full production run, we don't feel that there was enough feedback or interest for the cards to warrant a full-scale production run, when compared to some of our other products. I will announce in a future, weekly update before the cards become available, so stay tuned.

Your Effects on Our Cards!

As we outlined in last week's update, we're holding a contest in conjunction with our forthcoming Deck of All the Things. Back when we kickstarted the original Deck of Many Things, we offered a chance for people to have their very own card made and put into the deck. While that first kickstarter never went through, we wanted to bring back the concept for this new iteration of the deck.

From today February 10th, 2018 until April 1st, 2018, community members will be able to submit their spell effect for entry into the contest. 5 lucky winners will have their effect made into a card in the deck, receive a free copy of the Deck of All the Things, AND receive a Gemhammer Dice T-shirt. Winners will be announced Live from the floor of PAX East on April 6th 2018. To enter, click the link below and fill out the entry form.

One entry per person. No Purchase Necessary. Purchasing or preordering will not increase your chance of winning.

That's all we have for this Saturday, but what do you think about the Deck of Destinies and the Deck of All the Things? Tell us in the comments below. Also be sure to check in this Wednesday when our first Wizardry Wednesdays launches.

See you next time,

-Conor
